Hello,
Thank you for the introduction, Michael. It was nice to meet you at the
CTCNet Conference the week before last.
I am the North American Coordinator for the Telecenter Operator Exchange
Program. We are looking for innovative ways to enable telecenters
throughout the Americas to learn from one another, strengthen relationships,
and increase the impact of services offered.
This program provides a website where you can post Needs/Offers of Expertise
relevant to running a telecenter (or CTC or CAP site). The website is
located at: http://www.pcnastream.com/exchange
If you strike up a partnership that will result in travel or communication
expenses, we will be able to fund these costs for select applications. I
would be happy to assist you with any aspect of the application process.
Please note that we will be selecting applications to receive funding
beginning September 1, 2006, so I would encourage you to post your
Offer/Need of Expertise as soon as possible.
If you have a project that you are working on which could benefit from some
additional expertise, please feel free to make a post about it. Perhaps you
are designing a course curriculum, or you would like to start a community
radio station, or you would like to involve the youth of your community in a
media literacy project. We are very open to creative ideas that will enable
you to fulfill the goals of your telecenter. And, of course, if you see
somebody with a need to which you could offer your skills, please get in
touch with them.
If you have a rough idea that you would like to discuss with me before
posting, please feel free to get in touch. Please forward this message to
anybody else in the telecenter community who you feel would be interested in
participating.
Thanks again. I look forward to reading and participating on the AFCN list
more in the future.
Regards,
Tate Bengtson
